Horsemanship
Nicole Hirsekorn operates Star Struck Horsemanship (& Star Walkers) at her arena 10 minutes west of Leduc.
In 1997 her parents bought their first two horses, two Tennessee Walking Horse mares. In 2000 she began showing, breeding, and promoting the TWH.
In 2009 she became an Equine Canada Certified Instructor of Beginners. She began teaching riders of all ages and levels with the main focus on introducing riders to the TWH. Many of her students showed throughout Alberta at breed shows, demos, endurance and competitive trail rides, and obstacle competitions.
In 2014 Nicole starting competing in Extreme Cowboy Racing. Since then her passion and involvement with the sport has grown. Her program has evolved from exclusively gaited horses to a mix of gaited horses and western performance horses suited for the high speed and athletic demands of the sport. Both Nicole and her students successfully compete locally as well as at the EXCA World Finals held in Texas.
